Hello everyone!
I’m sorry there has been such a gap in posts. The last several months have had many things pull my focus away from writing or blogging.
That being said, I have not been idle. I have two major items of news to share.
Firstly, I was selected for publication with Havok Publishing!
So far I have had two flash-fictions picked up by them for their online publication, but this is the first time I’ve been selected for physical publication. The story selected is called “Lament of the Phoenix”, and is available for Havok members on their website, and coming soon in a physical and digital anthology. Go Havok!
The second piece of news concerns much of what has pulled my focus away from blogging. I’ve decided to switch gears in regards to my content. At heart, I am a writer and always will be. To paraphrase Treebeard the Ent; I don’t like saying anything unless it is worth taking a long time to say. The unfortunate reality of our modern age is that those who want to write long and thoughtful think-pieces of faith and fantasy are only a slightly larger group than those who will take the time to read them. I am not going to stop blogging, but I am having to restructure to bring my message to the world of media. It’s been a difficult journey just to reach the starting line, but I am proud to announce the birth of my media Channel: Theomythic!
Theomythic is the summation of what I have previously called “Theologically speculative Science fiction and fantasy”. I have a lot of plans for this new channel, including putting it on podcasting sites, YouTube, and Rumble to name a few. My goal is the same as my blog, to discuss and pontificate on genre fiction tropes and elements from a bible minded perspective. Kicking off the whole shebang will be Theomythic Talks, a round table discussion on various Theomythic topics. Filming has already begun, and I hope to have content of reasonable quality for you all in the near future.
I look forward to your subscriptions once we launch, and I hope it sparks all kinds of critical discussions moving forward!
In the meantime I have a small surprise for you, I will be posting some of my Flash fiction soon to the website so you can see some of what I have been working on. All under the heading of “Tales from the Firmament!” I hope you enjoy them!
